Hello,

My name is Paul Biener and this is my donation and sponsorship page.  I plan to be participating in the Twin Cities Komen 3day for the cure event in 2010, and I have set my fundraising goal at $75,000.00 for my participation..

Yes I said $75,000.00 for the Susan G. Komen
foundation and breast cancer research.

In accordance with the desperate need to find a cure, I have conceived some rather desperate fundraising measures.  Starting with this website,  www.myscreamingfeet.com.  As fundraising efforts have been slow, I would like to think I am about to boldly go where no one has gone before, no pun intended, and in that spirit,  I have raised the stakes.  Read the Susan Penne article here.

I personally pledge to wear high heel shoes for the event.

(Shoes with one inch of heel for EVERY $15,000.00 in contributions made in my name.)

Now I may think outside the box, but not that far out, well sometimes I'm so far out of the box I can't even SEE the box, but this time I have set a limit of 5 inches on the height of the heels.

I believe desperate times call for desperate measures and I challenge anyone to join me for this event.   Should anyone wish to join me in this challenge,  I would be happy to dedicate server space for a web site to solicit sponsorship.

I will be putting the sponsorship links up within the next 30 to 60 days which should give plenty of time to raise funds for my participation.  These links will lead directly to the Komen foundations servers as they will be collecting all donations.

Donations/Contributions must be made directly to the Susan G. Komen foundation in my name.
I will not personally receive donation funds for any reason or amount.

As the official fundraising launch has yet to occur, I invite you to bookmark this site and return every so often to check on my progress and, hopefully, contribute at a later time.

Why am I doing this?

When I discovered the numbers for breast cancer cases diagnosed each year, as well as the mortality rates for this horrible disease, I was both mortified and hopeful.   Mortified simply beacuse of the number of good people, men and women just like you and me, that are afflicted with this condition, and hopeful because of advances in the treatments and current survival rates of patients.  This says to me that something we are doing is working, we're just not there yet.

Because of this form of cancer,  there are countless individuals that are living with struggles I cannot even imagine and they are doing it every single day.  Now everyone, for one reason or another, has bad days.  Cancer patients have these days EVERY DAY!

And what of those who have lost their brave battle with cancer.   Mothers and Fathers, who left children behind, that will never see their babies have another birthday, graduate from school, walk down the isle, become parents themselves.  These are casualties of a horrific illness that will never again experience the smell of a spring morning, the rise of the morning sun or a stroll among flowers in a garden.   All the things many of us take for granted, they will never experience again.

Because of the extent of this disease, every day there are fewer and fewer families that are left untouched by cancer.  The time for action is now more than ever.   Please join me in this effort by sponsoring my participation in the 3day for the cure.

The Susan G. Komen for the cure foundation is the largest non profit organization for the support of breast cancer research and this is why I made the decision to support them.
